Cicely Mary Barker Flower Fairies - Competition
We are delighted to be able to bring the beautiful Cicely Mary Barker Flower FairiesTM to Australia & New Zealand, for both our retail and wholesale customers.
Based on the works of famous artist Cicely Mary Barker, these figurines are beautifully hand painted and are a lovely collectors item or accent in any fairy garden.
In 1911, at the age of 16, Cicely’s career as a painter took off when four of her paintings were published as postcards, then at 17 and after her father’s death, she submitted her art and poetry to various magazines and publishers as a way to help support her family.
Cicely Mary Baker believed in ‘truth to nature.’ Her flowers are botanically accurate, being painted from life/plant specimens, while her fairies were child models from her sister’s kindergarten. Each picture depicts a flower fairy whose clothes are made from the petals and leaves of their particular flower. She painted the flower fairies, then once complete she wrote the acompanying poems.
The first of her flower fairies books, Flower Fairies of the Spring, was published in 1923. Seven other books about fairies were published in the following decades.

My granddaughter just turned 5. For her birthday I made a huge fairy garden in a half wine barrel. I collected pieces for months and made fairy furniture out of sticks. I collected moss and succulents and made a pool out of an old birdbath. These beautiful pieces would be a wonderful enhancement to her garden and encourage the fairies to visit. The fairies will play on the bridge, swim in the pool, have tea parties and frolic amongst the treasures hidden in our garden.

Hello, thankyou so much for this oppertunity, I have a 3 yr old daughter who loves and truly believes in fairy’s, I’ve created a bit of a magical world for her to enjoy here and she now has her own fairy ‘pollen pot’ who visits regularly and leaves a little magic dust along the way as she has a hard family life with me separating from her father from a young age, fairy’s would come through the night and fix a broken toy or leave a special little sparkling trinket, I’ve done my best to ‘make’ a fairy door for all of this magical wonder to happen through but I don’t think my daughter is convinced with my effort lol, to win one of your packs for her would be like Christmas for me. Thanks for giving us the chance xo
