Mothers Day Teacup Garden
I’ve always admired the teacup gardens on Pinterest, so when I found a cute oversized teacup at a discount store it inspired me to create this little garden.
My local garden centre had several small plants suitable for indoors. I chose to use Dwarf Mondo Grass and Freckle Face – I love the pink and white colours in their leaves. The moss was growing in a friend’s yard.
When putting the garden together, the first thing I needed to do was drill a hole in the bottom of my teacup for drainage. I was able to break up the moss to fit perfectly into the top of the tea cup and around the plants. As you can see from the little hands, I had a helper for the planting. My daughter loves to help me with any task in the garden. I gave it a good water in, then it was ready for the accessories.
I love how sweet Marigold Fairy looks hanging her legs over the side of the cup. The small mushroom from this set of three pink mushrooms and the pink birdhouse pick tie the colours of the foliage and the fairy together.
It was so simple and fun to create and would make a great gift for any mum this Mothers Day. What do you think?
